My Bio
You may call me Bill or Pip. I'm a twenty-something editor, a self-professed punctuation junkie with a penchant for words, and a Catholic. I am also a very private, shy homosexual living my day-to-day between New York City and Oxford.

I like talking about sex, politics, books, relationships, religion, grammar, philosophy, literature, music, baseball and football. I have an old obsession with black and white movies and anything noir, and a true appreciation for Jimmy Stewart, Audrey Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart, Fred Astaire, and Cary Grant.

We'll probably get on well if you know who Robbe-Grillet is, enjoy Borges or Nabokov, can admit to liking Oscar Wilde, hate James Joyce and John Steinbeck, like Keats, appreciate Donne, and believe that Baldwin and Capote are among the greatest American writers in literary history.

Or, if reading isn't your thing, hit me up with a "Hello!" I welcome random IMs and notes.

I am posting this here, because I know Bill would want me to. True, it's been a decade since he's died, but I still know his heart. We owe this post to every incredible student who allowed us the privilege of being their teacher. Silence is complicity, and education is an active voice. I've seen a lot of well-meaning white and non-Black people preaching truths a breath too early, calling light to their experiences in hate and struggle, begging for peace, supporting the "good" among the "bad apples" and decrying financial and structural loss. To them, I must say: Please, do, check your privilege. Privilege is a difficult term because it's supposed to be spoken in the context of empathy but, instead, its connotations lead us toward defense of the personal experience. Privilege, in this context, has NEVER meant that a person has not faced anti-privilege in another; it simply means that there are social constructs in place that permit a particular group--in this case "White People"--to

I know that this was the one featured DD that Pip was most proud of. Today, on Memorial Day, let us remember: http://handbanana001.deviantart.com/art/Iraqi-Pilot-Returns-Story-77469555

Hello, DA: I'll be celebrating my tenth year as a professional editor soon. In this time, I've been fortunate to edit some rather lucrative commercial successes and some rather unnoticed niche novels--and a good deal of slush, slop and riot in between. I'm at a point in my career where I can pick and choose clients, pick and choose genres and form, and generally revel in the luxury of saying "No" whenever I want. It's a rather spoiled place, I won't lie, and I do enjoy it. More: I earned it. The other day, I was speaking with a potential client, someone I've rejected a time or two before whom I didn't fancy working with this time 'round, an

Happy Birthday Pip x

Still think of you Pip.

xx

Still missing your shining presence out here
Hey, you don't know me, but I wish I could have known you. I found your profile by happening upon "The Lucky One" .
In life, when we meet people whom operate via their heart and soul, they touch such a place inside us we can never forget them.  When we lose them, then, we lose so much more. So very much more.
I never met you, but feel I have. As well as the sting at learning through your profile that you are gone from this earth.
I lost someone I cared deeply for but lost touch with many years ago. I learnt by accident, surfing the net a few nights ago that he passed away. In 2008. And I am just learning about it now, 2020. All this time gone and I never knew...  Maybe you can let him know that I never stopped caring for him, even though my actions might have said differently.  I like to think, finding your work was him telling me he knows, and that everything is okay...   Because finding your page gave me a bit of peace which I can't explain..

Both of you,..  Rest in sweet peace, in the arms of the angels.

As if it’s been ten years.

Happy one more revolution around the sun day Bill, I hope the universe is keeping you well entertained, as I’m sure you are it.
Happy birthday, once more. You're missed
